Thirteen

Here is one more poem that I wrote back in 2007 for my best friend, Tiffany Stueben. She as always there for me when I needed her and just needed to talk even. It doesn't matter what it is or what was happening she was always there. I love her like a sister! I hope you enjoy the poem!




Thirteen
We used to be inseparable. We never were apart.
We always were together, right from the very start.
Skippin’ school and ditchin’ class, always having fun.
There were times we didn’t know if we’d ever be done.
Now you have your life and I have mine that’s all just the past.
Life is one big play for us and we are just the cast.
Sometimes I wonder if it ever will be the way it used to be.
Sometimes I wish that we still were the friends that I still see.
We’ll always be friends is what we would say.
Best friends forever are what we would stay.
Though life has been hard and times have been tough,
We’ve both had our issues and some have been rough.
We’ve shared some good times and we’ve shared some tears.
Thirteen years have gone by; so far we’ve been good.
We’ve kept our promise, just like we should.
Though our lives both have changed
And things aren’t the same,
We still keep in touch just as we claim.
We don’t know the future or what is in store,
But thirteen years longer is we we’ll hope for.
